Attard’s on North Union Street in Olean is a small and classy family-owned restaurant that is known for its diverse menu which offers American favorites, Italian, Lebanese, Greek and even Ethiopian food, to name a few!
Guitarist, pianist and singer CONNIE HAMILTON of Nunda grew up with classical music (her mother was a church organist, a proficient accompanist and music teacher). Then s-t-e-r-e-o hit her house and Judy Collins, Peter, Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, Roberta Flack, Cher and Julie Andrews became her idols. She taught herself how to play guitar so she could sing their wonderful songs. She’s performed at many weddings, concerts and church functions, and piano for the Ossian Presbyterian Church where she just started a children’s choir.
If you enjoy live, acoustic music then put the monthly ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC night at Black-Eyed Susan Acoustic Café on your calendar. Players of all ages (we’ve had performers as young as 9 yrs) and levels of experience (one or two have called Open Mic at Black-Eyed Susan their first public performance) gather at the café to make music, share a laugh and a good meal every “First Thursday”. This month, the evening takes place on March 3rd.
We in the Twin Tiers, are very fortunate when it comes to performing arts. We have several companies that perform top-of-the-line shows on a regular basis. During the summer months, we have the companies within the confines of Chautauqua Institution. Yes, we are very fortunate.
What makes our area even more fortunate are the performances of a company based out of Bradford. These performances very rarely happen in our area, but these people are ambassadors of our region to the rest of the country. Not all of the talent is local, but Enchanté Cabaret is.
For those that missed The Second City' production at Pitt-Bradford's Bromeley Theater Friday night, you really missed it. The Chicago-based comedy troupe delivered a great performance.
A scruffy, unshaven, beanie-clad Bradley Skistimas took the stage on Thursday in standard emo attire: a blue dress shirt, silver tie, and skinny black jeans. His persona clashed with the tightly polished image that hung on the large publicity banner behind him that portrayed Skistimas as a clean-cut, All-American artist. At first, it seemed that maybe it was just his attire that was out of place, but as the night continued, it became apparent that Skistimas’ enthusiasm was also on leave this evening.
A small stage in the corner of Allegany’s Linger Longer Café just wasn’t enough to hold the vocal intensity of St. Bonaventure acoustic pop-rock band Living My Last Day.
Friday, Feb. 4 Sean O’Shea and Katie Desautels performed a strong set to a relatively full Linger Longer.
The fossilized 4-foot curved tusks and a life-size replica cast of the Randolph Mammoth skull with tusks are part of the FOSSILS! exhibit at the Institute on Curtis Street in Jamestown.
Families travel from far and wide to enjoy Sprague's Maple Farms' breakfast served with their 100% pure maple syrup, as well as their lunches, dinners and desserts. However, they offer even more than just a delicious meal.
On Jan. 28, Wellsville’s Cort Dunham, 55, his son Dan Dunham and close friend Justin Cornelius set up in what locals call the Fillmore Hotel for a night full of good, old-fashioned rock music.
Before you know it Dan, 23, hits the kick and the band busts out into a sound that fills the entire room. The lyrics to Bob Seger’s timeless classic “Sunspot Baby” ring out over the warm distortion of Cort’s guitar shuffles to the crowd.
