This woman clearly has never seen another movie in her life.
I’ve never been much of a Nicolas Cage fan. After the first part of the movie, however, I did have a bit of hope. The movie was coming along well. Two knights see the true meaning behind the Crusades. Yes, Cage and costar Ron Perlman, seemed a little bit out of place, but they worked well together.
There were a few weird parts. Like the people with the plague were a little unnecessarily repulsive. But, I could look past their boiling foreheads in hope for some impressive moment where everything came together perfectly.
The pressure and suspense was building, and then suddenly, the truth was revealed. That epic moment had come. We were supposed to be excited and scared but ready for the final battle... Except the few people that were in the theater weren’t holding on to their seats. They were giggling.
And no, it wasn’t because Cage attempted to make one of his random jokes. It was because what was “revealed” was absolutely and utterly ridiculous. What could have been a cool concept became a terribly computer-animated cliché.
It wasn’t about saving an innocent girl accused of witchcraft (whom actress Claire Foy perfected). It was about, surprise surprise, saving the church-obsessed medieval world from a big, bad and ridiculous-looking demon.
And in the end, the demon won.
Just kidding. If you really want to know what happened, go see the movie for yourself. But trust me. It isn’t worth the money or your time.
