Coffee House grand opening at the African American Center for Cultural Development
The African American Center for Cultural Development announces the opening of an old fashion ‘coffee house’ from 6:00 to 8:00 PM every first and third Fridays beginning in January 2011. The main room of the Center will be set up with café tables and chairs facing the stage on which performers “will do their thing” says Director Della Moore.
This is a fundraiser for the Center to help with upkeep like utilities. Everyone is invited. There will be a donation jar for a free will offering. The call is out for anyone who would like to sing or read or play an instrument to sign up for one of the slots (four performers each night) in front of a friendly audience.
“This is a great opportunity to involve many segments of our community,” says Mrs. Moore. “We are asking some of our local business to partner with us by sponsoring a month’s Coffee House. And I am happy to announce that Tops Friendly Market will be our January sponsor.”
Moore and Ola Mae Gayton will read poetry at the January 7th event.

The Center opened on June 4, 2010 and is located in the former Bethel AME church at 402 West Green Street, Olean.
