Angee's: 60 Years of Fine Italian Food

There is something welcoming and warm about Angee’s on a Friday night.

Angee’s Restaurant located at 475 North Union St., Olean, N.Y. opened in 1948 by Libratore Angelo Fratercangelo, an Italian immigrant, and his son, Nicholos. Over 60 years later, Angee’s remains in its original location and is owned and operated by Nicholos’ youngest son, Anthony Fratercangelo.

The restaurant is packed with friends and family and the sound of laughter and conversation entwined with the delicious smell of Italian food makes for a comfortable yet exciting atmosphere. The waitresses are smiling and kind, and Anthony welcomes people by name as they walk in the door.

The wait for your meal is minimal, and the food is always satisfying. They are famous for their sauce and meatballs which are made with Anthony’s grandmother’s recipe from 1948.

Their menu also includes a number of different appetizers such as their baked artichokes and deep fried meatballs. They serve a variety of sandwiches and prepare a number of different meals as well.

Although the Angee’s has history, it is far from being behind the times. The restaurant’s website is updated frequently, and includes a restaurant menu as well as catering menu. There is also merchandise and printable coupons available on the Angee’s website.

Angee’s also has a Facebook page and even a mobile text club informing customers of their latest specials and event. New members receive 10 percent off their next meal!

The restaurant provides customers with a wireless internet connection.

Angee's dinner specials include “Wine Lover’s Night” and “Two for Tuesdays.” They have popular promotions and events such as “Caroling, Cocktails and Cookies” which takes place around Christmas. “There is always something going on,” said day-time bartender, Barbie.

During the warmer months, customers can enjoy their meals or drinks out on the patio to entertainment three nights a week.

Angee’s also caters events, or can just prepare a meal for takeout. “If you can’t come and eat, we will bring it to you,” says Anthony.
